Grande remise is the historic French legal category of chauffeur-driven prestige vehicles, created in 1955 and licensed by the préfecture until 2009, when the activity was absorbed into the VTC framework. The term now designates the highest standard of private chauffeured transport in France: a certified professional chauffeur, a luxury vehicle, and service reserved in advance for the duration of an engagement.

What is a security chauffeur?

A security chauffeur is a professional driver trained in defensive and evasive driving, route planning and protective protocol, whose mission is the safe and discreet movement of a principal. He differs from a bodyguard: the bodyguard provides physical close protection at the person’s side, while the security chauffeur’s domain is the vehicle and the journey.

What is an empty leg flight?

An empty leg is a private jet repositioning flight sold without its original passengers: the aircraft must fly a sector empty — returning to base or moving to its next pickup — and the operator offers that sector at a substantially reduced price. Route, date and aircraft are fixed by the operator’s existing schedule, which is why an empty leg costs less than a standard charter.

What is a private concierge?

A private concierge is a dedicated lifestyle-management service retained directly by an individual or a family, handling travel, reservations, access and day-to-day organisation throughout the year and across borders. Grande remise vs VTC: the real differences

Grande remise and VTC both designate chauffeur-driven cars booked in advance, but they do not describe the same service. VTC is the French legal status created in 2009 that covers all pre-booked passenger transport, from app-dispatched rides to executive cars; grande remise is the older luxury tradition — a certified chauffeur engaged for the duration of a mission, a prestige vehicle, hotel-grade protocol — which today operates within the VTC framework while exceeding its standards on every point.
